I have found it to be very usefull. Like most variations of channel strip plugins, better results could probably be had via using a chain of better individual plugins. 
What elements does offer is a decent sound that can be dialed in fairly quickly. It will not replace your Fab filter eq or your LA2A emulation. What it will do is give you a nice set of presets for projects that may not need much more. I often use it for voiceover work that is going to just lay over stock music. In my work, time spent on a project directly translates to lost profit, so I use timesaving features/plugins whenever possible.
