Our unit was alerted on November 23rd, activated November 29, and reported to our mobilization station (Ft. Stewart, Ga) 1 December 90. We deployed on 21 December and arrived in Saudi Arabia on 22 December 90. Hindi bewafai song. The unit deployed with 8 male officers, 27 male enlisted, 2 female officers, and 7 female enlisted for a total of 44 individuals.

The mission of the 202nd Medical Group is to provide command and control of three to seven hospital or battalion size units, this is up to about 3,000 soldiers. The unit does not offer any definitive health care but does offer professional coordination, guidance, and consultative services. PRE-MOBILIZATION PHASE: Though the pace of mobilization for the Persian Gulf war continued to progress for certain units in the Florida Guard, the 202nd Medical Group had not been placed on the 'planning list' as of 17 Nov 90. COL Boatright on Sunday afternoon 18th of November received a call from Troop Command Headquarters indicating General Sprenger, the Troop Command Commander, was on his way to the 202nd Med Gp Headquarters.
